  If first impressions count, they deserve 0 stars. The female advisor was cold and wasted no time in asking about my life insurance policy face amount. She then told me that my deceased ex-wife's alcoholic brother in Poland needed to sign paperwork to waive rights for cremation. I said can I get those papers to be signed in advance? She said, "Not until we take possession of the body and you assign us the policy." I asked what happens if he changes his mind? She said I only start charging after a couple of months if the papers are not signed. So that means I avoided a trap.
  
  If I agreed to assign my insurance benefit to these people, they could have held her indefinitely all the while charging me. I am glad I read the other reviews. Thumbs down on this crew!

  Our family was very pleased with our experience with the Blount & Curry MacDill Funeral Home. Our coordinator, Mark, went above and beyond throughout the entire process, as did the rest of the staff. The day of the visitation and service ran smoothly and every single detail that we envisioned was incorporated. From start to end, the support and attention to detail during our father's service was impeccable. I would highly recommend Blount Curry MacDill to celebrate the life of a loved one.

  Blout and Curry has actually managed to make the process of putting my loved one to rest MORE UPSETTING than the actual death!
  The (not so) gentleman, upon the initial consultation forgot not only some of the LEGAL DOCUMENTATION that was required in order to host the funeral but he forgot the flower and keepsake catalogue. Our family member that was planning the funeral is wheelchair bound and cannot get out of the house without a great hassle.
  Our one main request was that our loved ones obituary was put into the Sunday paper; it was not done. Our director was given plenty of time to make sure the paper received it, but he showed utter incompetence instead.
  Upon the funeral day, we were assured that our keepsakes were ready. HA! Not only was our director not there, but the keepsakes were not ready and continued to not "be ready" until a week and a half later.
  The guest book? The fonts didn't match on each page. They apologized and redid the book, the font was STILL WRONG.
  The receptionist is impersonal and unkind, our director is a straight up idiot and the whole experience has been a nightmare. This is one of the most difficult times in our family's life, and this JOKE of a funeral home and its ill-fitted employees have actually made this situation worse. Go ANYWHERE but to this funeral home!!

  WORST! PEOPLE! EVER! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! I was yelled at, I was dismissed, and I was disrespected. The customer service is HORRIBLE - customer service is a foreign concept to these people. I wish they would close their doors so that other families do not have to experience their lack of care and professionalism! My grandfather’s Death Certificate was incorrect, and then it was somehow my fault?!?!? When they did not show me the draft?!?!? I had to jump through hoops to get them fixed?!?!? Everything about the process was HORRIFIC!
